1. What is MOMO Local?
MOMO Local is a community market place for anyone to buy and sell
products and services enabling people to exchange their resources
easily, reliably and efficiently.
2. What kind of products and
services can I find here?
You can find all kinds of categories that you can find in general
classified sites, from finding an roommate to selling a video
game.
3. How do I post a request?
Just click on the "Post Request" button. You'll be able to enter
your request and invite your friends and other folks on MOMO Local
to participate.
4. How do I add friends?
Click on the Friends list. You'll be able to search for friends on
the MOMO Local network and also import and invite friends from
your Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail, or Facebook accounts.
5. What are networks?
Networks are groups of people or business affiliated with your
community or a particular topic of interest, expertise or service.
You can either join an existing network or create your own
network for your community. For example, you can create a network
called "iPhone developers in Bay Area" and invite people who will
be interested. You can also post requests directly to your network
and notify network members.
6. Can I post my request to a
network if I'm not a member yet?
No, you would have to follow the network in order to start posting
to a network.
7. What is an offer?
An offer is when someone wants to offer a product or service
without being requested to do so. For instance, you may want to
offer math lessons and invite friends and networks to participate
in your offer, or for a restaurant owner you can offer a daily
deal to your own network page so that customers can participate in
your deal.
8. I was invited to participate
in a request or offer. What do I do?
When you are invited to a request, you may first want to read the
request to see if it's something you'll want to participate in. If
you'd like to participate, just go ahead and respond to the
requester by clicking on the "participate" button. If you have any
questions about the request such as more details about the work
involved or compensation, just indicate so in the chat. Ultimately
the agreement on how you can help is decided between you and the
requester.
9. How do I report complaints,
bugs, or request new features?
The 'Feedback' section, on the bottom bar of the site, is your one
stop shop for sending information back to the MOMO Local team.
Here you can send bug reports, or just send us general feedback.
We'll be happy to hear from you. Also you can find MOMO Local Q&A
network, here you can check out previously posted feedbacks and
questions as well as our responses to them.
10. I think some posting may be
spam. How do I report them?
You will find a 'Report Abuse' button in the post. Clicking it
will bring up a text box below where you can add more details
about your complaint. We will review each complaint carefully and
decide on whether or not to remove it.
11. What's the difference between
a public and a private messages?
A public message is a message that all MOMO Local users can see. A
private message is only visible between the poster and each
participant. When you respond to a post, it is important to think
about whether you want all users to see the conversation or if you
would prefer the conversations to be private because of
confidentiality or negotiations reasons.
12. What happens when I opt in
for "Let MOMO Local find matches" for posting?
MOMO Local uses a sophisticated matching algorithm to match you
with people whose expertise or interest closely matches your
request or offer. That way, the most qualified people will be
matched for your post and notified to participate.
13. What is the MOMO Level and
how is it determined?
The MOMO level is your rank in the MOMO Local network. It is
determined from your MOMO score. The higher the score, the more
likely you are to be promoted to the next MOMO level. MOMO Score
is divided into 7 different levels. The diagram below explains the
relationship between the MOMO score and MOMO levels.
16. What is MOMO Score?
The MOMO score is a number determined by the system in order to
indicate how helpful or active you are to others in the MOMO Local
network.
17. How can I increase MOMO
Score?
The basic principles that underlay your MOMO score calculation are
active participation in posts and networks, commitment to help,
and your Kudos ratings by others.
18. What is Kudos?
Kudos are the score given by the poster for each of your
participated post on a scale of 1 to 5 and is factored into you
overall MOMO score calculations.
19. What does MOMO stand for?
MOMO is an acronym for Meeting Of the Minds Of. We believe there
can be a continuous loop of people helping each other where minds
meet and exchange resources.
20. Do you have a mobile app
version, such as iPhone, Android?
You can download our iPhone app from the Apple AppStore. An
Android version is also on its way soon!
21. Do I need to pay anything to
use the site?
This site is completely free!
22. Can I delete my posted items?
We don't provide a "Delete Post" function yet, but we will provide
this function soon. For now, canceling your post will essentially
delete it from our system.
23. Can I opt out from the new
post notification of my networks ?
Yes you can, please go to your profile setting and "Uncheck" the
networks that you would like to opt out the notifications from,
you can change this setting at any time.
